Wet Cleaning Wool & Silk Duvets with Lanadol Sensitive Update

Distillation Troubleshooting

Primary points to consider

  • Inspect duvet to ensure there are no tears, pre-existing shrinkage or damaged stitch lines.
  • Some very old duvets may have wool fibres that have shifted to one area of the duvet and cleaning could make this worse.
  • Always qualify these issues with clients before proceeding.
  • Use designated PK Wool duvet program.
  • Once the duvet is removed from the washer immediately air dry overnight.
  • In the morning, ensure that the duvet is dry.
  • You can the fluff up the duvet in the dyer on low heat (40 degrees max) for 10 minutes.
  • Your duvet is now ready for packaging.

For those more experienced wet cleaners who relax the duvet fibre prior to air drying

  • Ensure that you do this on low heat for 2-3 minutes only.
  • Make sure that your dryer timer is accurate!!!
  • Ensure that your dryer drum is cool after the previous drying cycle. (Sometimes the drum can be extremely hot from the previous cycle and this excess heat could cause some shrinkage on duvets even after just 2-3 minutes)
